| Week 4 Continued - Lighting Effects using layers/blend modes |

| Ok, ok, I know that this isn't really working with lighting effects so to speak but it really did start out that way and I ended up with the image on the right & liked it so I'm posting it here. There were 6 layers used with different opacities & blend modes as shown below. I basically made a selection of each cloud section, flood filled with different colors, blurred, blended and opacitied away. |

| (1) I brought cloud image over to the Statue of Liberty image, used the deformation tool to adjust height/width. Used blend mode of Luminance & left opacity at 100%. I then used the erasure tool to clear the Statue of Libery & the buildings that I didn't want clouded over. (2) Above this layer I created a new layer & followed tutorial to create sun rays & used Overlay as the blend mode with opacity set at 50%. (3) Back down to my background layer, created a new layer, filled with black - set opacity to 60 with Hue as the blend mode. |
