Even though I tried to follow the directions Linda gave us, I couldn't get it to turn out where the edges were lighter (I even tried the layers method) so I created my own version. Me thinks that I get an "F" on this one (boo hoo).

Used the airbrush on the above image - I kinda like the results

On the image above, I used the same method as in the picture on the upper right but with a different background color for the squares, lowered the opacity to 22 and then airbrushed white over the lower left-hand side to create the image shown

On the above image, I cut out the swan as per the lesson, and then copied it to my clipboard. I then deselected the swan, used the average blur with settings as per lesson and then used a custom brush stroke on the background layer. I then pasted the swan that was on my clipboard as a new layer and used the unsharp mask on this layer only.
